High expectations, alongside consistent progress and achievement for all pupils, are embedded across the school, regardless of gender, race, culture or socio-economic background. This commitment is further strengthened through the effective and purposeful use of Pupil Premium funding. 

Rising Stars

Ensuring that every child reaches their full potential is a key priority at Kents Hill Junior School. This extends beyond academic achievement to include social, moral, spiritual and cultural development. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all members of our school community can experience success and fulfilment.

High expectations and a focus on progress for every pupil, no matter how small, are embedded across the school, regardless of background. This commitment is supported through the effective use of Pupil Premium funding, which is allocated based on specific criteria. This funding enables us to provide additional opportunities and support, including targeted interventions, development of oracy, challenge for more able pupils, additional tuition, and access to enriching experiences that enhance social and cultural understanding.

At Kents Hill Junior School, our ‘Rising Stars’—pupils in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant—are central to our approach. We are committed to ensuring they achieve the best possible outcomes and are fully supported to access all aspects of school life.

Where appropriate, Rising Stars may receive additional support to help them thrive socially, emotionally and academically. This may include enrichment opportunities such as clubs, targeted interventions to develop social skills and emotional wellbeing, and additional academic support. The provision we put in place not only benefits these pupils but also strengthens teaching, learning and wellbeing across the school.

Together, we ensure that every Rising Star is supported to grow, succeed and reach their full potential.
