PE and Sport Premium
Sports Premium Spending Statement:
At Kents Hill Junior School, we are committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and fostering a lifelong love of physical activity in all our pupils. The PE and Sport Premium funding, provided by the government, plays a vital role in helping us achieve this aim.
Each year, we receive Sport Premium funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE), sport and physical activity. This funding is used to enhance the quality of PE teaching, expand sporting opportunities for all children, and promote active learning throughout the school day.
How We Use the Funding:
- Developing high-quality PE teaching through specialist training and resources.
- Broadening the range of sports and physical activities available to all pupils, including extracurricular clubs, inter-school competitions and aquatic opportunities.
- Improving facilities and equipment to ensure safe, engaging, and inclusive physical activity.
- Promoting physical activity across the curriculum and supporting initiatives like the Wow project and playleaders.
- School Sports Partnership to support pupils with SEND, staff CPD, competitive and participation festivals.
Impact of the Funding:
The funding has led to increased participation in physical activity, improved physical fitness, and enhanced enjoyment of sport and PE among pupils. It has also supported the development of staff confidence and competence in delivering PE.
We regularly evaluate the impact of our Sport Premium spending and ensure it is aligned with the Department for Education’s 5 key indicators for improvement in PE and sport.
A detailed breakdown of our spending with regards to our service agreement with the School Sports Partnership can be obtained on our website.
