British Values

Promoting Fundamental British Values:

In line with guidance from the Department for Education, we are committed to actively promoting British values to ensure that our pupils are well prepared for life in modern Britain. We foster an inclusive environment where children are encouraged to show respect and tolerance towards people of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds. Pupils develop an understanding that, while individuals may hold differing views about what is right and wrong, everyone living in England is subject to the same laws.

These principles are closely linked to our PSHE curriculum, which is structured around the themes of Being Me in My World, Celebrating Differences, Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, Relationships, and Changing Me. Through these areas of learning, pupils develop self-awareness, empathy, resilience, and a strong moral compass, enabling them to understand their role within both the school community and wider society.

Through our curriculum and wider school experiences, we promote the following key British values:

  • Democracy
  • The Rule of Law
  • Individual Liberty
  • Mutual Respect
  • Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs

These values are embedded throughout school life, helping pupils to develop as thoughtful, responsible, and respectful members of society.
