If your child is absent, it is your responsibility to contact the school. 

If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, on the first day of absence (and any consecutive days thereafter) parents/carers are required to report the absence providing as much information as possible by either:

• Calling and leaving a message on the schools Absence Line (01268 792133)
• Reporting via the School Gateway app
• Emailing the school office (admin@kentshill-jun.essex.sch.uk)

Please note: a referral will be made to Local Authority if no contact has been made with parents by the 10th day of absence at which point your child will be considered to be “missing from education.”
