Claire Geldart | Chair Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2025

Claire Geldart serves as Chair of Governance, bringing valuable professional connections within law enforcement and a strong commitment to supporting the school community. As a parent of the school, she is passionate about helping ensure high standards, effective leadership, and positive outcomes for all pupils. She strongly believes that addressing and correcting behaviour at a young age helps establish positive habits that children carry into later life, and recognises the importance of the wider community working together to support and nurture every child's development.

Roisin Murphy | Safeguarding & Personal Development & Wellbeing Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2025

Roisin is a parent of three children who have attended Kents Hill Junior School and has a strong personal connection to the school community and a genuine commitment to supporting its continued growth and success.

Roisin has a professional background in social care, with extensive experience in both adult and child safeguarding and has also worked for many years in advice and guidance services, supporting individuals and families across a wide range of long-term health conditions.

 

Roisin is proud to serve as a governor and is passionate about promoting wellbeing, ensuring robust safeguarding practices, and supporting the development of a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Charlene Robbins | Curriculum Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2025

Charlene Robbins is a parent governor with a strong background in leadership and children's wellbeing. She spent ten years in banking, including five in management, before running two award winning, successful businesses, including a Hartbeeps franchise and her current venture, Essex Buggy Parlour.

She is also a licensed chaperone for children in TV, stage and film, ensuring their safety and welfare. Charlene holds a Level 3 qualification in Understanding Autism and a Level 2 in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities, as well as a valuable lived experience as a parent of children with SEN. 

A mum of four, Charlene is committed to supporting the school and promoting an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.

Kathryn Noble | Attendance & Inclusion Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2025

Kathryn is a mother of 3 children who have attended Kents Hill Junior School and has lived experience with children with SEN. Kathryn has a background in retail management, childcare and being a carer. Kathryn is a volunteer with Scouts and is also on the leadership team at a local church.

Elizabeth Rice | Staff Governor

Appointment Date: 2nd December 2025

Lizzie is an experienced and dedicated teacher who has worked across a range of schools in Essex and London since 2021. She has been a valued member of staff at Kents Hill Junior School for the past 7 years and currently teaches in year 6.

Recently qualified as a SENDCo, Lizzie works as part of the SEND team to support pupils with additional needs, helping to ensure inclusive and effective provision. She also leads the Rising Stars team, where she is committed to narrowing the attainment gap for disadvantaged pupils by creating opportunities for all learners to succeed.

Lizzie is a parent of two children, one of whom attends Kents Hill Junior School. She brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her role, supporting strong partnerships between school and home and championing the success and wellbeing of every child.

Lindsay Castle | Attendance Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2026

Lindsay is a parent of one child currently attending the school and another child who has already moved through it and praises the school as a wonderful, nurturing environment.

Lindsay is excited to give back to the school community as a governor, looking after attendance. 

Lindsay's professional background is in education, having worked as an Art teacher at a secondary school and now trains teachers as a Pathway Tutor for the TES institute. She is passionate about ensuring excellent school attendance so that every child can fully access the creative and academic opportunities the school provides.

Helen Cant | Achievement Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2026

Helen is delighted to be joining the school as a governor, with a particular focus on pupil achievement.

Helen has three children, two of whom are currently attending Kents Hill Junior school and the eldest has just started secondary school. She has a strong personal connection to the school and a genuine interest in helping it continue to provide the best possible opportunities for all its pupils.

Helen has worked as a secondary school teacher in Essex for the past 16 years, giving her extensive experience of education, teaching and learning, and supporting young people to reach their potential. Throughout her career, she has seen the importance of high expectations, effective teaching and a positive learning environment in helping children succeed.

Emma O'Connell | Personal Development Governor

Appointment Date: 1st September 2026

Emma is a mother of 2 children whom have both attended Kents Hill Junior School. Emma has a background in financial banking, specialising in fraud prevention.

 

Emma is passionate about supporting the school and creating an inclusive environment where all children feel valued and are able to flourish.
