This week in Year 5 we have begun our topic by learning about the Romans, their empire and how they affected life in Britain. With a focus on crime and punishment, we researched what the Romans did for Britons and how this impacted Celtic life. We had to understand the rules of BC and AD before we could do this and spent some time ordering numbers on a timeline. In music, we have started learning about Motown music, beginning with Dancing in the Streets. As well as singing the songs, we have been working on finding and keeping with the pulse. We have also continued reading our book, Holes.
