This week in Year 5, we have been using the formal written method to complete multiplication calculations. This included multiplying 2 digits by 1 digit, 3 digits by 1 digit, 4 digits by 1 digit and 2 digits by 2 digits. 

We have been focussing on the u-e sound this week within our spelling list words: Tuesday, communicate, use, unscrew, gruesome, ewe, feud, beauty, nuisance, and humour.

May the force be with you! Using a clip of a Star Wars, we have been generating ideas and sentences to include within our writing. We have been working together to create relative pronouns, relative clauses, expanded noun phrases, powerful verbs and the correct speech punctuation.

In art we have been discussing the effectiveness of collages and using accurate artistic vocabulary to describe a range of collage art work. Using Adobe Spark, we have created our own Vlogs with a recorded audio description of our thoughts and views of our researched collages.

Whilst learning about space, we have been researching the different planets in our solar system and developing our understanding of what makes a planet a planet. We worked together to create the solar system and to correctly order the planets.
