Week beginning: 07.03.2022
We were lucky enough to have visitors come into school on Friday to do some workshops about waste and plastic. We learnt about the impact of waste on our planet and the environment and what we can do to help this. We thought about how to recycle our waste better and how we can compost too! Some of use got to make posters promoting recycling too!
In writing this week we have begun our independent writing on Flotsom. We have written descriptive paragraphs describing how the camera got taken down to the bottom of the sea and what underwater world it discovered. We have had some fantastically creative ideas including an underwater car-lot, a school for mermaids, a race-track for seahorses and even underwater animals wearing human clothes! We have been working hard to include lots of descriptive features in our writing to make it as vivid as possible, including expanded noun phrases, similes, adverbs, alliteration and fronted adverbials!
In RE this week, we have moved on to look at Christianity. This week we have looked at Jesus' Ministery and how and why people are baptised.
We have started a new book this week called 'Plastic Sucks!'. This week we only looked at the front and back covers and made predications about what we thought the text was going to be about. We are looking forward to starting to read the book properly next week!
