In Year 5, we have been working on our multiplication skills when multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits, 3 digits by 2 digits and 4 digits by 2 digits. We have been using the formal written method to solve a variety of calculations and problems.

We have been focussing on the 'ar' sound for our spellings this week, our spellings are: father, half, scarred, guard, aardvark, draught, sergeant, bizarre, heart and calm.

We have continued working on our sentence stacking and using a variety of features to up-level our work, such as verbs, adverbs, similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, hyperboles, and figurative language.

Our new topic of PSHE is based on our dreams and goals in life and how we can work to achieve them. We discussed how money can have a part in us achieving our dreams and goals, but it is not always important!

To continue our art project, we have been working on the different techniques that we can use to add texture and mediums to our space collages. We sketched out our designs of our collages and annotated them to describe what techniques and colours would be used to create our collages.
