Week beginning: 11.07.2022
This week in Year 4 we have continued our learning on Bollywood music. This week we recapped musical vocabulary such as; verse, chorus, melody, tempo, dynamics. Our end outcome is to write our own Indian songs and play them on the keyboard too! This week we focused on our songs lyrics! We got ourselves into groups and brainstormed themes for our song that related to India. We then decided on a theme and began to write our masterpieces!
We agreed our songs must have two verses and a chorus that repeats twice. We have lots of great songs about a variety of topics including: River Ganges, Hinduism and their Gods, monsoons and even some about curry!
We will be adding background music to these lyrics next week when we get the keyboards out!
In art this week we have been sewing! Over the last few weeks, we have practiced some basic sewing techniques and sketched our rangoli design. This week we put our planning into practice and began to sew our final design! We began by sketching out our design on our binca material to give ourselves a template to follow... then we began our sewing! There are starting to look great and really come together - we are looking forward to finishing them properly next week! Here is a sneak peak!
