Week beginning 28.02.2022
This week we have got to do lots of exciting World Book Day activities! On Monday we watched a LIVE session with Matilda and friends. On Thursday we had a whole day of fun activities - starting with a book cafe in the morning! We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes! Everyone looked amazing! Here were the children that won best dressed out of each class in Year4!
This week in Year 4 we have looking at staying healthy! In DT this week we thought about how we can stay fit and healthy - this links really well to our PSHE topic 'healthy me'. We wanted to inspire people to get up and move! We created a dancing robot with the idea that people would look at it and me motivated to dance along! We used our Lego Spike kits to build the robots and program them on the app to get them to move. We made sure to follow the instructions carefully to ensure we built the robots correctly.
In science this week we have continued our learning on living things and their habitats. We used magnifying glasses to look around the field and eco-garden and see what species we could spot. We thought about what these species needed to live in these habitats, for example, damp, dark conditions.
In writing this week we continued our writing on Flotsom! We finished up our sentence staking lessons where we have begun to describe the pictures that the boy has discovered. We used lots of expanded noun phrases and similes in our writing to ensure the underwater worlds were vividly described. We have also planned for our independent writing section to begin next week!
On Tuesday this week we also had pancake day! In school we had a pancake day competition where we attempted to flip a pancake as many times as we could in 1 minute. Miss Roberts, Miss Jackson, Miss Clarke and Mrs Marable were so impressed with how fantastic some of the children were at it!
