Week beginning: 06.06.2022
This week in year 4 we started a new topic in our history lessons, we are studying the Indus Valley civilisation! We looked at where this civilisation settled and when it existed. We wanted to understand when the Indus Valley civilisation occurred in relation to other historical time periods, to help us with this, we did some outdoor learning! We used our outdoor timeline to find the start and end dates of various time periods. We then put our learning onto a timeline. We all took our time on our timelines to make them as clear and neat as possible. We've added these to a double page spread which we will be adding to as they term continues.
We also started a new piece of writing this week! This time we are writing to persuade our readers to try the Indian curry we made in DT last half term. We thought about the key features of persuasive writing including, vivid descriptions, expanded noun phrases and rhetorical questions. We then did a short write to describe the curry and its key ingredients: chicken, spinach and the sauce itself. We will use this to support our writing next week!
