Week beginning: 28.03.2022
We finished our fractions unit this week by practising how to use fractions as operators and finding fractions of an amount. Now that we have finished our fractions unit, we have begun learning about decimals! To start us off, we have practised placing the decimal numbers in the correct place values up to 2 decimal places and writing decimals as fractions.
We were lucky enough to take part in the 'Roots to Food' workshop this week - we had SO much fun! We practised using a variety of cooking skills to create a delicious chicken bhuna curry and a vegetarian butter bean curry.
To support our learning of water resistance, we created boats out of a variety of materials to see whether they were a successful streamlined shape to travel through the water smoothly. We also learned about simple machines and their mechanisms and why they are so important in our everyday lives. Using a variety of resources, we created either a pulley, lever or gear system.
Using our computing skills, we have been reading codes, predicting algorithms, investigating and modifying programs, planning a program and eventually creating our own programs! We have been practising using different games and programs on Scratch to support our learning and to support our own creations of a game.
